Information released by the International Energy Agency and quoted Green Radio revealed that carbon emissions have increased after a decline due to the financial crisis in 2009. Carbon emissions in the year 2010 was 5 percent higher than the emissions recorded in 2008 and declared a record-breaking amount of emissions.

China and India are contributing most of the increase in carbon emissions, although the amount of emissions in developed countries also experienced an increase. The increase in these emissions increase doubts whether the target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions can be achieved.

World leaders have agreed that the sharp reductions required to limit the increase in global temperature to two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. But the International Energy Agency estimates that carbon emissions have reached 30 million tons more, or record a new record level in 2010.
