Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions could have an impact beyond expectations. In addition to saving human beings and other living creatures from long-term impact of disasters and extinction, emission reductions can also prevent the population of Earth from alien attack.
How? NASA scientists and Pennsylvania State University said, the emission of greenhouse gases that cause changes in Earth's atmosphere can be detected from space. Alien can observe and think, there is civilization that has grown beyond the Earth. The observations of the conditions of Earth's atmosphere can lead an alien to come to Earth.
If arrival is certainly no harm, certainly not a problem. But what if intelligent beings were planning an attack, repulsed in humans for destroying the Earth?
So far, scientists from the two new institutions set up several possibilities if aliens came to Earth. The best scenario, the alien did not launch an attack. Humans can actually learn from the aliens on how to overcome hunger and fight disease. "In this scenario, humans do not only gain a moral victory since defeating the aliens, but have the opportunity to harness the intelligence of extra-terrestrial beings who owned it," wrote the scientists in his paper, as quoted by the Daily Mail, Friday (08/19/2011).
The second scenario is a neutral scenario. In this case, humans can not feel the difference because of the existence of aliens because of communication barriers. There is the possibility of aliens being too bureaucratic and ended up offending people.
Meanwhile, the worst scenario, the aliens attack humans. Humans are enslaved by aliens while they increase the capacity for expansion. Impact ultimately, global destruction, and could wipe out the entire human population.
Until now, there is no certainty, which scenario will occur. No wonder, because the certainty of the existence of intelligent beings in outer space as well not exist until this moment. However, scientists revealed that men should do preventive measures.
In its report, the scientists wrote, "Mankind is now entering a period in which the expansion of an alien civilization could be detected, because the expansion we change the composition of the atmosphere through emissions of greenhouse gases. This scenario is to spur us to limit growth and reduce the impact of the global ecosystem."
Furthermore, scientists advise, "It will be important for us to reduce greenhouse gas emissions cause atmospheric changes can be detected from another planet."
In essence, as much as possible to save the Earth from alien attack by reducing emissions. Look like science fiction? Maybe. However, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced. The team of scientists who developed the alien invasion scenario was led by Shawn Domagal-Goldman from NASA. His report is also published in NASA.
