Environmental organization Greenpeace activists looked Working Cabinet under the leadership of President Joko Widodo be a leader to save the environment.

For that Greenpeace activists handed petition 100% Green Peace Indonesia signed by 113,595 people to the President Joko Widodo in front of the National Palace.

This petition was submitted with a green package to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as a symbol of environmental issues that are important to the community through a poll conducted by Greenpeace Indonesia.




Head of Greenpeace Indonesia, Longgena Ginting, said the action was done to encourage the President and Cabinet Work Jokowi to be a leader who is 100 percent committed to the rescue and restoration of the environment environment, as well as leading a movement to save the environment in a national and international scale.

"This is a good time for the whole society, including ministry officials to work together to save and protect the environment," he said in Jakarta, Monday (27/10) in the middle of the action in front of the National Palace together supporters and activists of Greenpeace Indonesia.

In a written statement, Longgena added in the process of saving and environmental protection, it needs a president who can lead, provide vision, and used his influence in the national scale, as well as internationally.

According to him, Greenpeace Indonesia has built a public campaign movement through movement 100% Green Peace Indonesia which was well received by the community, as evidenced by the high number of petitions.

Therefore, this is an opportunity for Jokowi to demonstrate its commitment to go green and peaceful Indonesia.

"Indonesia has a tropical forest and the ocean most extensive in the region, as well as the richness of significant biodiversity in the world. What happens in Indonesia will affect the environment in the region. Therefore, Indonesia has an important influence in the decision making process of saving the environment on an international scale," Longgena firm.

During the campaign period, Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla expressed commitment to protect the environment, including total protection against the remaining peat and forest, is committed to play an active role in the context of global emissions reduction and addressing climate change.

In addition, they are also committed to eradicate the black market and illegal fishing of tuna fish to cope with overfishing, and improvement of watershed areas.
