A series of avalanches that hit the region in the north of the Afghan capital, Kabul, killing at least 29 people, according to authorities.Heavy snowfall in Panjshir province and Cross-Salang, causing landslides and create a closed path so as links to some villages cut off.Acting governor Abdul Rahman explained that about 30 people are still trapped under the rubble of snow so that the possibility of the death toll will still increase."We gather 300 people to help rescue, but we do not have the equipment and people use a shovel or hand to reach trapped victims," he said.
Landslides are common in the mountains of Afghanistan in the winter
and major disasters in 2012 and came caused 145 people dead or missing.Efforts to rescue the victims who are still alive in the latest disaster is also hampered by dangerous conditions still.Around 15 people have been rescued and they had suffered from frozen body as well as other injuries.
